Multiview Client/Server General Overview

The advent of client/server technology has forced software suppliers to capitulate to this new technology or to reinvent their products. Many companies have taken the tactic of just layering client/server technology on their older legacy applications putting a new name and new marketing face then reintroduced them to the market.

Multiview took an entirely different approach to our client/server offering. We started with a clean sheet of paper, new development tools and a new database technology. The result is a completely new type of general ledger and financial reporting module. The basic intent with the Mutiview suite of products is User Productivity and Application Value.

What do we mean by User Productivity and Application Value? User Productivity is simply stated: The ability of an end user to get his/her job done in the time allotted by the corporation. Application Value is the ability of the software to provide the tools to allow end users to reach the highest level of job performance.

It is a truly simple but powerful concept. Multiview software will enable the end user to meet specific corporate objectives for a job description because of the design of the software. Multiview's unique approach to organization and reporting on the activities of the organizations allows end users at every level to achieve their information goals easily and quickly. Multiview achieves this high level of performance through two concepts.

The first concept is an object-oriented approach to the organizational structure, the accounting structure and all the activities the organization must accomplish day to day to move the company forward profitably. First, we separate the physical structure of the organization using building blocks called Units. This is a generic name for anywhere a debit or credit can be used to record the activity of the corporation. Examples would be: legal entities, divisions, departments, and cost centers.

The second part of this concept is directed at the fiscal side of the corporation. Multiview allows a single picture of the accounts to be built and maintained across multiple entities i.e. corporations, divisions, cost centers and departments. This single chart of accounts concept results in a very small chart that has extraordinary power from a reporting perspective.

The third part of this concept is what Multiview calls the project code. Project code represents various subledger structures and activities. Literally they can represent any activity, process, project or program it takes to run the corporation.

The object-oriented approach coupled with Multiview's unique ownership concept allow for the most advanced reporting and inquiry capabilities available in today's complex financial application market space. The power of any financial application rests in it's ability to report online, real time the results of the corporation. Not just P&L, Balance Sheet and product line information but any performance metric that affects the company's ability to perform profitably. Multiview's capability in this area is unparalleled in the industry.
